Most of the projects described in these words of appreciation are in the Woodworking Gallery photos.

“I want to thank you for the work you did on the walnut table for our dining room. We are so happy with the way the table turned out — the workmanship is incredible and you were great to work with throughout the process. You were so helpful in guiding us to select the slab from the many options you had available, then walking us through the design and engraving process. Your work is functional art and is always a conversation starter in our home.”

— Brian Daniel, Carroll Daniel Construction, GA

“We love the slabs and their finish is perfect. Could not be happier with the unique look and superior function. Our customers love it and Dave followed through on everything. Highly recommend for any business or home.”
Arthur Lucas, owner, Freehouse Brewery, Walhalla, SC

“Creativity, attention to detail and listening to what the customer wants are paramount in my view, and Dave is exemplary in all of these facets. His craftsmanship is extraordinary. The dining room table he made for me is among my most prized possessions. It’s an extraordinary piece that turns heads and sparks conversations regularly. He artfully placed my favorite creeks and rivers on a spectacular piece of wood, and it’s a pleasure to have in my home to share with all of my friends and family.”
Dan Cook, Asheville, NC

“As a designer, I try to find unique, one-of-a-kind, quality pieces to use in my clients’ homes. David created the perfect ‘WOW’ bar top for my latest project. He also created a beautiful coffee table for my clients with their mountain range view carved in the top. Very prompt and professional service.”

— Lisa Taylor, interior designer, Clayton, GA

“We’ve needed a new bar top for years at the distillery. Not only did we get the bar top we wanted, but it absolutely exceeded our expectations. Our customers love it so much and it fits so well in our distillery. You couldn’t ask for anything better for the price!”

— Ben, head spirit spirit crafter, head bartender, Chattooga Belle Distillery

About Woody
and his shop

David “Woody” Woodward made his living as a reliable auto mechanic and auto restorer for decades, but his heart was always yearning to create, and he took to it in a big way. He dabbled in woodworking for just a short time before he realized that creating with wood is just the right mix of his artistic and technical skills.

And, all those mechanic skills come in handy: Woody mills the flattest slabs around and maintains his own equipment. He knows how to keep all the machinery sharp and working smoothly.

Woody has one of the largest mills in the area, and hence the capacity to cut the largest slabs available: up to 65 inches wide and 20 feet long.

In his free time you may find him kayaking one of the many awesome rivers around here.
