Bartops
Sturdy bartops that go way beyond dime-a-dozen butcher block. Live-edge slabs of magnificent local wood, perhaps with maps of local rivers — well, customers notice and enjoy sitting by them. Make time with friends even more memorable with a custom bartop to start conversations. Or something cool for that man-cave…
Can’t decide between a dining table and a bartop? Make it a bartop and use bar stools or bar chairs to give it double-duty.
Bartop of Lake Burton on walnut with epoxy finish. This table/bartop is available at Watauga Creek Furniture in Franklin, NC
The mineral glow in low light.
It has an intense reddish luster under tungsten lighting (home lighting).
The process of preparing the slab and adding the mineral glow map to the Lake Burton bartop above.
Sycamore Bartop for the Freehouse Brewery, Main Street, Walhalla — it's now getting a steady stream of use.
Of the tables at Freehouse, the four thick maple tables are my creations.
I am especially fond of the figuring in these maple slabs — so beautiful.
The figuring of sycamore is gorgeous, too.
Had these done for installation during early stages of the interior renovation.
Four slabs for a total of about 24 feet. These slabs came from a tree that was submerged in a creek in Asheville
And a bench out back, why not!
Bartop at the Chattooga Belle Farm Distillery with a map of the nearby Chattooga River.
A map to reminisce over with buddies and beer. Or whiskey.
In progress at the shop.
Gantry crane sure is "handy" with a piece this large.
A bartop for Humble Pie pizza restaurant in Long Creek, SC: bookmatched walnut with small pools of mineral glow.
I had first put an oil finish on this table, but when Humble Pie wanted to use it as a bartop, for them, I placed a subtle watershed on it (photo of that in-process) and then an epoxy finish for the pub.
In addition, I made four maple dining tables for the pizza parlor area.
Where's Humble Pie the restaurant on this map — make a guess.
Walnut bartop with a mineral map of the Chattooga River and arrowhead inlays.
The mineral glow gathered in daylight shines in complete darkness until morning.
A river runs through it. This was a fun challenge: to add a "river" between two slabs, and have it stay together.
