Walnut dining table with the Oconee County 1776 Census Map of the Native American Trails & Villages along the Chattooga River
This is one that Woody chose to keep in his own home. 12 x 5.5 foot walnut ~3" thick, with three strategically placed table legs to hold massive slab. This feature shows a lot of the process that goes into creating a glowing mineral map on a large piece of wood.
This tree came from the fenceline of a pasture, and the slab has barbed wire toward the base.
The crescent moon is my own design for inlays to stabilize the crack, and chose padauk, zebra wood and maple for this table.
Clay borders to keep the epoxy from flowing into routes that I'll put other colors.
Doug Woodward, who has strong connections to the Chattooga River himself, admiring his son's craftsmanship.
