Lake Jocassee Dining Table
This gorgeous 12-foot x 5.5-foot x 3" inches walnut slab, from a 200-year old tree, was selected by the customer complemented with a mineral topo map of Lake Jocassee. This one is set a bar height for double use as a bar and dining table with bar stools. It was made for the Spotted Pig BBQ Restaurant in Fair Play, SC, near Lake Jocassee.
The legs are brushed copper of the customer's choosing.
The client chose to have me place both butterflies and crescent moons to stabilize the natural crack lines.
The wood in the center of this piece is really special, and to complement the grain pattern, I mixed several blue minerals beside the heartwood. The cracks of this one were filled with black epoxy.
The mineral glow in low light.
Moving the slab with the gantry crane.
Daylight & Dark: show me the “glow-in-the-dark” mineral illumination.
